Super Screener preview: Big prices in the Valley of the Vapors

An all-stakes Pick 3 on Saturday at Oaklawn Park features the chance for a big price in the middle leg, the Valley of the Vapors Stakes for three-year-old fillies.

Mike Shutty's Super Screener identifies the race as having a "high-payoff potential" and why not based on the top three selections all being at least 8-1? Under the Palms, who is 10-1 on the morning line, also is listed as the most reliable board-hitter as well as top value with 8-1 Winnable.

"What has been most impressive about this filly is how she had moved forward in each start since her debut," Shutty said of Under the Palms. "Form-cycle analysis is revealing yet another move forward here with a prediction of a Brisnet Speed Rating in the low 90s, which would easily give her victory. Adding confidence is this filly's penultimate work, which was razor sharp."

Kenny McPeek trains Winnable, who would be making her dirt debut here.

"She appears to be training well on dirt and, being by Justify, would believe she may even move up on it," Shutty said. "Note that excellent balance in her energy-distribution profile and now, with the slight cut back in distance that only bolsters what form-cycle analysis results are signaling, which is a five- to six-point advancement, which puts her on par with the top contenders here."
