Super Screener preview: See who offers value in Victory Ride

This week's Super Screener goes all night long with stakes action at Prairie Meadows closing things out Saturday night but not before a four-pack of stakes races at Belmont Park plus the Grade 3 Indiana Oaks and Grade 3 Indiana Derby at Horseshoe Indianapolis.

Both Grade 1 races at Belmont are featured, and while those 1 1/4-mile tests for three-year-olds on turf are intriguing, it is a sprint for three-year-old fillies that most caught Super Screener impresario Mike Shutty's interest.

"The pace will be on the hot side with a lot of pressure, and it will be led by the very speedy No. 2 Dazzling Blue and the even speedier No. 5 Maple Leaf Mel," Shutty said of the Victory Ride (G3), race 11 of 12 on the Belmont card. "Positioned in the catbird seat just two lengths off the wall of speed will be the Super Screener top win pick No. 3 Vahva.

"After failing in a couple of route tries, this filly has found her wheelhouse distance, which is 6 1/2 to 7 furlongs, so she is well suited to today's distance and is advantaged by the pace set up. She has moved forward in each of her last three starts and she fired a bullet in her penultimate work in preparation for the return from the 60-day break. Form-cycle analysis is anticipating a move forward on her way to a lifetime-best performance," Shutty said.

In all, eight races are a part of this week's Super Screener with additional thoughts on Pick 3 wagers at both Belmont and Prairie Meadows.
