Super Screener preview: Popular barn has big chance in Ack Ack

The Grade 3 Ack Ack Stakes on Saturday at Churchill Downs is a win and you're in race for the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile and one of nine Breeders' Cup prep races covered in this week's Super Screener.

It also happens to be one of the better wagering opportunities according to Mike Shutty, who sees likely favorite no. 5 Zozos as vulnerable, preferring instead no. 2 O Besos second off the layoff.

"He came off an eight-plus-month layoff to catch a very slow pace in his 2023 debut, which had him closer to the pace than normal, and he finished extremely well in a deceptively good race," Shutty says. "His final Brisnet Speed Rating is understated as a result. He is going to be best at one turn, and that last race set him up perfectly for a move forward.

"No horse will be moving faster down the stretch than this 5-year-old from the productive Greg Foley barn."

The Ack Ack happens along four Breeders' Cup preps from Aqueduct and four from Santa Anita with added analysis of wagering strategy surrounding the all-graded-stakes Pick 3 on races 8-10 at the great race place, which plays host to the Breeders' Cup on Nov. 3-4.
