Super Screener: Long-shot play in Blame at Churchill Downs

As a racing fan it is always exciting when the Kentucky Derby winner returns to the races, as 2024 hero Mystik Dan does on Saturday in the Grade 3 Blame Stakes at Churchill Downs.

As a bettor, though, it is exciting to take a swing against the Derby winner's celebrity, and that is what Mike Shutty and Super Screener have in store with a long-shot selection in the local prep for the Stephen Foster Stakes (G1).

Super Screener is in the midst of a strong Triple Crown season, as shown in the image above, with the Belmont Stakes still to come. Subscribe to Super Screener now and get all of this week's races plus Super Screener for next week as well as Power Picks and Horses to Single daily reports through the Belmont Stakes next Saturday June 7 at Saratoga.

As for the Blame, it is one of six stakes Saturday at Churchill, and Super Screener covers them all.

"This is a highly competitive race ... but two horses emerge as the clear top win contenders," Shutty wrote of no. 3 Antiquarian and no. 7 Most Wanted in the Blame. Given their morning lines of 15-1 and 7-2, respectively, it is no wonder that Antiquarian is the preferred choice.

"Form-cycle analysis is calling for a match up to his previous top, which was a win in last year's Peter Pan Stakes," Shutty said of this Todd Pletcher trainee. "He should sit an ideal trip reserved off a swift pace. He is a very solid win contender sitting on a big race offering a square price."
