Super Screener: Long-shot selection caps Churchill stakes
Churchill Downs might not have saved the best stakes for last on its 11-race Stephen Foster Stakes preview day Saturday in Louisville, but Super Screener might have.
The final edition of Super Screener before Belmont Stakes week next week at Saratoga is packed with all seven stakes from Churchill Downs plus bonus coverage of the Graded 3 Jacques Cartier Stakes on Saturday at Woodbine. Subscribe to Super Screener and get both this and next week's editions of Super Screener plus daily Power Picks and Horses to Single reports.
The Arlington Stakes (G3) on Saturday at Churchill caps several all-stakes multi-race wagers, and savvy players could find themselves live to big payouts based on Super Screener relegating big favorite No. 3 Lagynos to the "other horses" column. Occupying all the real estate in the top win contender, most reliable board hitter and top long shot columns is No. 6 Minaret Station at 15-1.
"This will be the colt's second race in a nearly a year, but his 2026 debut served as an excellent prep for this start," Mike Shutty writes. "He moved forward, showed balance and just missed the win by a length last out. Form-cycle analysis results are indicating at least a five-point move forward over that lifetime top figure last out, and he owns the highest Super Screener Energy Reserve Index score in the field. That kind of move forward and the favorable pace setup would have him turning the tables on Lagynos from the Opening Verse Stakes Kentucky Derby week at Churchill.
"This is the strong win conviction play that might even offer some value."
Indeed, Super Screener rates the Arlington an 8/10 on its playability score index, indicating high payoff potential. Each race in Super Screener includes selections, analysis and wagering strategy.
