Super Screener: Keeneland Turf Mile offers plenty of value
It is another blockbuster weekend of stakes action with the Breeders’ Cup now just four weeks away. At Keeneland, five graded stakes will be contested, including four Breeders’ Cup “win and you’re in races,” while Belmont Park has a trio of graded stakes on tap including the “win and you’re in” Vosburgh (G2) for dirt sprinters.
Once again, Super Screener – the data-driven, time-tested handicapping method pioneered by author Mike Shutty – has you covered to make informed wagering decisions.
Among the feature races Saturday at Keeneland is the $750,000 Keeneland Turf Mile (G1), formerly the Shadwell Turf Mile, which is an automatic qualifier for the Breeders’ Cup Mile at Del Mar on Nov. 6. With a contentious 13-horse field signed up, Super Screener rates the race as having “moderate payoff potential.”
Order of Australia, last year’s upset winner of the Breeders’ Cup Mile at Keeneland, is the 7-2 favorite on the morning line. Super Screener notes Order of Australia is “no longer a mystery horse” and “comes into this race as a strong win contender.”
However, there are alternatives to the favorite. Super Screener’s top pick in the Keeneland Turf Mile is also the “top value” play at 5-1 on the morning line. In addition, Super Screener has tabbed a 20-1 shot as both a top win contender and the top long shot that could make a big impact.
“This is a must include in your wagers and hoping we get every bit of those morning line odds of 20-1,” Shutty writes of his preferred long shot.
You can find out who that contender is, as well as receive full analysis and wagering strategies for nine other graded stakes, by purchasing this week’s Super Screener here.
