Super Screener: Finding value in the G3 Arlington Stakes
Among the highlights of this weekend's national stakes schedule is the $200,000 Pennine Ridge (G2) for 3-year-olds on grass at Belmont Park and the Stephen Foster preview card at Churchill Downs which features six stakes, two of which are graded.
Among the pair of graded-stakes at Churchill Downs is the $200,000 Arlington Stakes (G3) for older horses going 1 1/16-miles on turf. While it attracted only a field of six, led by 5-2 morning-line favorite Field Pass for trainer Mike Maker, Super Screener has identified a "top value" play that is 5-1 in the program.
Super Screener is the time-tested, data-driven handicapping method developed by author Mike Shutty. Each week's edition offers in-depth analysis and wagering strategies for select races from across North America. It can be purchased here.
In Saturday's Arlington, Super Screener gives a push to Floriform for Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott. Juddmonte's 4-year-old homebred by top sire Into Mischief was a solid third in the Tampa Bay Stakes in his stakes debut two starts back and came right back to win when dropped into a second-level allowance on April 27.
From Super Screener: "Hoping we get a little value on this Bill Mott charge. He has shown a general pattern of steady progression since his debut last September and has been the benefactor of frequent breaks. Form cycle analysis is now projecting a break out performance here resulting in a new career top 2nd off the 80+ day layoff."
