Super Screener: A nice price awaits in the Spinaway

Summer trucks along for two more weekends, but the final weekend of racing at the premier summer venues is this weekend with Grade 1 action closing out Saratoga, Kentucky Downs and Del Mar.

Of course Super Screener has the best races from coast to coast covered with special emphasis on the lucrative races on Saturday at Kentucky Downs. Those races, however, are most lucrative in purses, but the Grade 1 Spinaway Stakes on Saturday at Saratoga may offer the most lucrative price.

"We take a quick diversion from Kentucky Downs to take in the Spinaway featuring an octet of 2-year-old fillies that will all take on the tricky distance of seven furlongs over the main track," Super Screener impresario Mike Shutty says. "The pace projects to clock in a few ticks faster than par along with ample pace pressure. The pace will likely be led by Harper’s Corner and Life Changing .

"However, the Super Screener Top Win, Top Board Hitter and Top Value player Stress Relief might get a bit overlooked in the wagering here but no filly in this field is more balanced in the way she distributed her energy last out following the less-than-ideal start. She easily disposed of a quality field in the Adirondack Stakes and did so showing a great degree of professionalism in just her second start. Having successfully navigated the 6 1/2-furlong distance last out provides her with another advantage over the other contenders in this field. Look for a stalking trip while saving ground and then punching through along the rail to get up in time for the victory while offering great value. She is on her way to a new top in this snap-back race."

Each race in Super Screener includes selections, analysis and wagering strategy, and this week's edition also has strategy for the all-graded stakes pick 4 on Saturday at Kentucky Downs.

Subscribe to Super Screener and receive all nine editions from now through the Breeders' Cup Oct. 30 and 31 at Keeneland plus daily Power Picks and Horses to Single reports.
