Super Screener: 12-1 shot is the play in the Ack Ack
There is an abundance of stakes action this week all around the country and for those looking to get in on the fun, Super Screener has you covered.
Super Screener is the time-tested and data-driven handicapping product created by author Mike Shutty, This week's edition provides in-depth analysis and wagering strategies for a combined nine stakes races, all with Breeders' Cup implications. Among those are the $300,000 Ack Ack (G3) at Churchill Downs on Saturday, which is a "win and you're in" for the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile.
In the Ack Ack, Grade 1 winner Speaker's Corner is the even-money favorite on the morning line. He is easily the class of the field given his win in the Carter Handicap (G1) earlier this year, but the 4-year-old Street Sense colt is riding a three-race losing streak after most recently shipping to California and checking in fourth in the Pat O'Brien (G2) at Del Mar.
Super Screener is looking past the favorite and instead has tabbed 12-1 shot Senor Buscador as both its "most reliable board hitter" and "top long shot." Senor Buscador, trained by Todd Fincher, also shipped to Del Mar this summer and tried the Pat O'Brien where he finished third behind impressive winner Laurel River.
From Super Screener: "That effort was good enough to land him a new lifetime top (speed figure) and now he makes just his fourth start since February 2021, he stays at the one-turn configuration and will benefit from a fast and pressured pace. His last work over this surface was lights out. He’ll still be six to seven lengths off the pace as they turn for home, but no horse will be running faster down the stretch. Offers tremendous value as the Super Screener top board hitter pick."
