Ultra consistent Sunset Glow, winner of the Grade I Del Mar Debutante last summer and never worse than third in eight lifetime races, heads a strong field of nine three-year-old fillies Sunday in the Grade II $200,000 San Clemente Handicap at one mile over Del Mar's infield grass course.

Hall of Famer Gary Stevens has the call on Sunset Glow, a daughter of Exchange Rate trained by Wesley Ward. After winning the Debutante, the filly went on to run second in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf. In two starts in 2015, she's been third to unbeaten Lady Eli in the Appalachian Stakes and runner-up to Celestine in the Wait While on the grass at Belmont Park in mid-May.

Among those opposing Sunset Glow will be English-bred Prize Exhibit, upset winner of the Senorita Stakes at Santa Anita; Her Emmynency, whose only loss in four starts was a narrow one to Sunset Glow in the Debutante, and Irish-bred Spirit of Xian, third recently to Spanish Queen in the Honeymoon Stakes.

Others in the field are Campionessa Dolce, Moyo Honey, Pammy Whammy, Paulina's Love and Screaming Skylar

Post time for the first of ten races Sunday will be  2 p.m.
