Sunday's Landaluce Features Seduire

Jerry Hollendorfer’s Seduire, an impressive first out maiden winner on May 22, heads a field of nine largely untested 2-year-old fillies in Saturday’s $125,000 Landaluce Stakes at Santa Anita.

An Ontario-Canadian-bred filly by Elusive Quality, Seduire took her debut by 1 ½ lengths, covering 4 ½ furlongs in a rapid 51.40 at odds of 7-2 in a field of seven.  Owned by Regis Farms, she’ll break from the rail with Corey Nakatani set to ride her back.

Second as the heavy 2-5 favorite, Bob Baffert’s Enchanting Lady will try to turn the tables on Seduire and the added distance should be to her benefit.  Breaking a step slow from her outside post, the Tale of the Cat filly finished with what appeared to be much in reserve and galloped out well.

Owned by Kaleem Shah, Enchanting Lady will again be ridden by Martin Garcia and she’ll break from post nine.

Trainer Adam Kitchingman’s Sea Mona was a first out winner going 4 ½ furlongs on May 8, but despite the fact she was a handy 2 ¾ length winner, she’ll have to show marked improvement to beat the top two.  A Kentucky-bred filly by Tiz Wonderful, she’s owned by Triple B Farms and will be ridden back by Joe Talamo.
