Sunday's 7th race from Woodbine (10-15-17) is the Grade 3 Ontario Derby for 3-year-olds traveling a mile and an eighth on the all-weather surface.
#2 GRIZZEL (3-1) exits an okay 4th vs. salty older turf routers in the G2 Canadian. She is 2-for-2 in WO synthetic routes including a victory in the G3 Selene May 21. She projects a stalking trip.
#8 Holy Helena (2-1) took a stab at winning a Grade 1 on dirt in the Alabama at SAR but stalked and retreated as the tepid favorite that day. She won both of her local synthetic routes (Woodbine Oaks, Queen’s Plate) under today’s rider Contreras and is an obvious stalking threat if she can rediscover her sharp spring form.
#4 Senior Investment (4-1) has shown a nice late kick in dirt routes (won G3 Lexington April 15) and today’s rider Albarado was aboard for his maiden win at FG (December 2016).
