Preparing to defend his 2021 victory in next month's Grade 1, $3 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational, Knicks Go turned in a 49.8-second workout Sunday morning at Fair Grounds.
Trainer Brad Cox has worked the 5-year-old Paynter horse twice since winning last month's Breeders' Cup Classic at Del Mar. Knicks Go had a 36.2-second breeze going three furlongs last Saturday at Churchill Downs.
The Jan. 29 running of the Pegasus at Gulfstream Park will mark the last of 25 career starts for Knicks Go, who is ticketed to carry a $30,000 stud fee when he begins his stallion career this spring for Taylor Made.
