Sunday works: Barnes returns to the tab, leads 35 graded winners

Barnes worked for the first time in more than three weeks Sunday, drilling three furlongs on Santa Anita's training track in 37.0 seconds for trainer Bob Baffert. It was Barnes’s first time working on the all-weather training track, which sits inside the main oval and turf course.

Barnes previously worked May 16. A 3-year-old colt by Into Mischief, Barnes hasn’t had a start since finishing fifth in the Grade 1 Santa Anita Derby April 5.

Also working for Baffert was Richi, winner of the Santa Maria (G2) on April 19. Richi worked four furlongs on the main track in 48.4 seconds.
