Sunday’s Belmont Park Late Pick 4 Tickets – Sept 28
Belmont Park Recap – Saturday, September 27
Jose Ortiz, Joel Rosario, and John Velazquez each booted home a pair. Rudy Rodriguez saddled graded winners Vyjack and Belle Gallantey. Cornelio Velasquez and David Jacobson teamed up for two turf wins.
Graded Stakes Recaps:
G2 Kelso: Vyjack sat the garden spot trip and wore down game pacesetter River Rocks. Heavy favorite Itsmyluckyday just saved the show.
G1 Beldame: Belle Gallantey dominated from start to finish with post time favorite Stopchargingmaria clearly second best.
G1 Flower Bowl: Stephanie’s Kitten got involved much earlier and won her first race of the season. Abaco nipped early runner Viva Rafaela for the place.
G1 Vosburgh: Private Zone made it back-to-back renewals of the Vosburgh with another determined win under Martin Pedroza. Dads Caps just missed at 15-1 and solid favorite Palace ended up 3rd.
G1 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic: Main Sequence made in three straight Grade 1 turf triumphs for Motion. Twilight Eclipse checked in 2nd by a neck and early runner Imagining was 3rd.
G1 JCGC: Tonalist showed once again that he adores Belmont Park, besting fellow Big Sandy lover Zivo. Jockey Rajiv Maragh broke his arm after his mount Wicked Strong clipped heels with Moreno (DQ’d from 4th).
