Stronach Group Will Continue Support for Jockeys' Guild

The Stronach Group announced today it will continue its long-term support of The Jockeys' GuildĀ  and its member jockeys.

Under the terms of the three-year extension, each of the six Stronach Group racetracks will make payments to the Jockeys' Guild to help subsidize health and life insurance, disability benefits, and benefits for jockeys who are members of the Guild and ride in the United States.

The Stronach Group's six tracks - Gulfstream Park, Santa Anita Park, Pimlico Race Course, Laurel Park, Golden Gate Fields and Portland Meadows - will make payments per starter in each race with payments increasing each year through 2017.

Tim Ritvo, COO of The Stronach Group and a winner of more than 500 races as a jockey, said: "We're extremely pleased to work with the Jockeys' Guild. We're honored to support the men and women of the Guild who risk their lives every day while continuing to work as ambassadors for our sport. As someone who rode and now has a son who rides, I know the importance of health, life and disability insurance as well as a benefits for all Guild members."

Terry Meyocks, National Manager of the Guild, said: "We are truly appreciative of The Stronach Group and what they have done over the years for the Guild. It's important we work together in all aspects to promote racing and promote a safe racing environment for everyone. The Stronach Group has supported us for many years and we are grateful for all their support."
