Just For Fun Stable’s Street Gem took command down the backstretch and drew clear late in the lane to capture the $60,000 Revidere Stakes at Monmouth Park on Sunday by a length and a quarter.

Trained by Kathleen O’Connell, Street Gem stepped the mile over firm turf in 1:43 1/5 and returned $12.40, $5.40 and $4.40.  Coarsegold rallied to complete the $55.80 exacta and paid $5.20 to place and $3.60 to show.  Alydorable was placed third after Cat’s Holiday was disqualified for interference with that rival in the stretch.  Alydorable returned $4.40 to show.

“My plan was to lay second or third,” said winning jockey Daniel Coa.  “I wanted to be closer to the pace than last time.  She was nice and relaxed all around there today and was just cruising.  She did it pretty easily.”

A 3-year-old filly by Street Boss from the Lemon Drop Kid mare Nesselrode, Street Gem has won four of her nine lifetime starts and has earned $82,940.
