Street Band, Dean Martini lead Thursday's graded-stakes works

Graded stakes winners were busy from coast-to-coast on Thursday morning, led by trainer Larry Jones' Grade 1 winner Street Band and Ohio Derby (G3) winner Dean Martini for trainer Tom Amoss.

Dean Martini (Cairo Prince) a Grade 3 winner (2020 Ohio Derby) worked 4 furlongs in 48.6 at Churchill Downs on Thursday morning. It was the 8th fastest of 30 works at the distance. His previous work was 8 days ago going 4 furlongs at Churchill Downs. In his last start he placed 1st in the Ohio Derby (G3) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Thistledown on June 27 for trainer Tom Amoss. He is pointing towards the Ellis Park Derby for his next start.

Street Band (Istan) a Grade 1 winner (2019 Cotillion) worked 5 furlongs in 1:01.6 at Ellis Park on Thursday morning. It was the second fastest of 9 works at the distance. Her previous work was 7 days ago going 5 furlongs at Ellis Park. In her last start she placed 4th in the Apple Blossom (G1) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Oaklawn Park on April 18 for trainer Larry Jones.

St. Joe Bay (Saint Anddan) a two time Grade 2 winner (2019 San Carlos, 2017 Palos Verdes) worked 4 furlongs in 50.4 at Del Mar on Thursday morning. It was the 32nd fastest of 40 works at the distance. This is his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed 1st in an allowance race going 7 furlongs on the main track at Del Mar on July 10 for Juan Leyva, assistant to suspended trainer John Sadler.


Majestic Eagle
(Medaglia d'Oro) a Grade 3 winner (2019 American) worked 3 furlongs in 39.4 at Del Mar on Thursday morning. It was the 14th fastest of 15 works at the distance. His previous work was 22 days ago going 4 furlongs at Santa Anita Park. In his last start he placed 6th in the San Francisco Mile (G3) going 1 mile on the turf at Golden Gate Fields on June 14 for trainer Neil Drysdale.


Flat Out Speed
(Flat Out) a Grade 3 winner (2020 Iowa Oaks) worked 5 furlongs in 1:01.3 at Prairie Meadows on Thursday morning. It was the second fastest of 7 works at the distance. This is her first work since her last race. In her last start she placed 1st in the Iowa Oaks (G3) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Prairie Meadows on July 5 for trainer Lynn Chleborad.


Island Commish
(Commissioner) a Grade 3 winner (2020 Kitten's Joy) worked 3 furlongs in 37.8 at Saratoga on Thursday morning. It was the 10th fastest of 17 works at the distance. His previous work was 18 days ago going 3 furlongs at Gulfstream Park. In his last start he placed 12th in the War Chant going 1 mile on the turf at Churchill Downs on May 23 for trainer Saffie Joseph Jr.


Pat On the Back
(Congrats) a Grade 2 winner (2019 Kelso H.) worked 4 furlongs in 47.8 at Saratoga on Thursday morning. It was the third fastest of 28 works at the distance. His previous work was 7 days ago going 4 furlongs at Saratoga. In his last start he placed 6th in the Commentator going 1 mile on the main track at Belmont Park on June 12 for trainer Jeremiah Englehart.
