Stay hot with Super Screener Sunday play in Eddie Read

We'll stop short of saying Super Screener has saved the best for last since hopefully it will be a nine-way tie for analysis supremacy by the time the weekend ends, but it is hard not to be excited about the lone Sunday play in this week's sheet.

The Eddie Read Stakes (G2) on Sunday at Del Mar is for older horses going 1 1/8 miles on turf and the field of eight features a strong quartet of viable contenders.

And now that we're just 14 weeks from the Breeders' Cup (also at Del Mar), the price of Horse Racing Nation's Super Screener Breeders' Cup bundle is down to just $97, which gets you 15 editions of Super Screener plus daily Power Picks and Horses to Single Reports.

Each race in Super Screener includes selections, analysis, and wagering strategy. The discussion of the Eddie Read features a strong one-two punch of value plus a long shot selection to spice things up.

"In the final analysis, the horse that the Super Screener scores on top is Stay Hot," Mike Shutty writes. "He owns the highest Energy Reserve Index in this field, which translates into how much energy he will have left to distribute over the final portion of this race.

"He projects to sit a trip just four lengths off the rapid pace while getting first jump on some of the more formidable closers. To add more conviction, his penultimate work in preparation for this start was stellar. A high confidence pick offering value."

But that's not all: Dicey Mo Chara can spice things up and is liberally used in Shutty's wagering strategy for this race.

"He seeks to repeat what he did in this race last year when second at monster odds of 76-1," Shutty says. "We won't get anything near that this time but the price will be big. He gets back to the turf course he seems to move forward on and trip wise, he saves ground, which is really important in these nine-furlong races, and he will pass tired horses to get into at least the superfecta."
