Spring House too classy at Golden Gate

R. D. Hubbard’s Spring House picked up his sixth stakes victory on Saturday when he captured the $100,000 Golden Gate Fields Turf Stakes (G3).

Trained by Julio Canani, the seven-year-old Chester House gelding chased pacesetter Yacht Spotter from midpack before launching his winning bid in midstretch under Russell Baze. Spring House covered 1 3/8 miles in 2:19.62 on firm turf.
