Touchuponastar earned the week's highest Brisnet Speed Rating, 107, and Beyer Speed Figure, 109, for his upset win Saturday in the Grade 2 New Orleans Classic at Fair Grounds.

With Timothy Thornton riding for trainer Jeff Delhomme, the 6-year-old gelding by Star Guitar led at every call to win by 2 1/2 lengths over Hall of Fame, with odds-on favorite Sierra Leone in third.

Touchuponastar has finished in the money in all of his 21 career graded stakes, mostly against Louisiana-bred company. This was his first graded-stakes wins.

Mercante also got a 107 Brisnet for his win in the Kentucky Cup Classic (G3) at Turfway Park. It was the first stakes start for the 5-year-old Gun Runner gelding trained by Brian Knippenberg, and he prevailed after a stretch duel to win by a length. He also received a 101 Beyer.

In the Kentucky Derby 2025 points preps, Final Gambit got a 101 Brisnet and 90 Beyer for his win in the Jeff Ruby Steaks (G3) at Turfway, and Tiztastic got a 100 Brisnet and 95 Beyer for his Louisiana Derby (G2) victory.
