Speed figures: These are last week's fastest stakes winners
There's little option here but to tell you what you probably know already. Fierceness leads this week's list of the fastest stakes winners after his battle with Thorpedo Anna in Saturday's Grade 1 Travers stakes.
Both of them earned 107 Brisnet Speed Ratings and 111 Beyer Speed Figures for their all-out efforts.
Those are the highest Beyers of the year, along with the 111 earned by Arthur's Ride for his win in an optional-claiming allowance at Saratoga in June.
Two runners have had higher Brisnet ratings, Warrior Johny got a 111 for an optional-claiming allowance win at Saratoga and Next got a 109 for his win in the Brooklyn (G2), both in July.
Tied at the top of the Brisnet ratings this week is Raging Torrent, who also got a 107 for his win Saturday in the Pat O'Brien (G2) at Del Mar.
