Speed figures: These are last week's fastest stakes winners
Subsanador picked up his first U.S. win Saturday in the Grade 3 Philip H. Iselin Stakes at Monmouth Park, and he earned last week's highest speed figures in the process.
Trained by Richard Mandella and shipped from his California base, Subsanador got a 104 Brisnet Speed Rating and a 102 Beyer Speed figure. Both were the highest among last week's runners.
Subsanador, a 5-year-old Argentina-bred horse, has made four starts in the U.S., starting in December. He finished second by a head in the Santa Anita Handicap (G1) and has two forth-place finishes, also in graded stakes.
Two other stakes winners earned triple-digit Brisnet ratings. Beth's Dream got a 100 Brisnet and 93 Beyer for her win in the black-type Sheer Drama at Gulfstream Park. Undefeated Iscreamuscream also earned a 100 Brisnet, along with an 89 Beyer, for her win in the Del Mar Oaks (G1).
