Speed figures: These are last week's 20 fastest stakes winners

On paper Nysos loomed as the class of the Grade 2 Triple Bend on Saturday at Santa Anita. He ran to those expectations, crossing the wire 5 1/2 lengths in front of runner-up Dr. Venkman and earning a 145 Horse Racing Nation speed figure, the fastest of the week. The Bob Baffert trainee also earned a 108 Beyer, the fastest stakes-winning figure of the week on that scale, as well as a 106 Brisnet Speed Rating.

The fastest Brisnet figure of the week, a 108, went to handicap-division mainstay Skippylongstocking for his victory in Monday's Hollywood Gold Cup (G2) at Santa Anita. He won at 1 1/4 miles for the first time in his career, reeling in Midnight Mammoth to win by three quarters of a length. The performance also earned the Saffie Joseph Jr. trainee a 132 HRN speed figure and a 98 Beyer.
