Speed figures: Sovereignty tops last week's stakes winners
Sovereignty tops the list of last week's fastest stakes winners, scoring a 136 Horse Racing Nation speed figure for his win in the Grade 2 Jim Dandy at Saratoga on Saturday.
He also earned a 105 Brisnet Speed Rating and a 104 Beyer Speed Figure. Ridden by Junior Alvarado, who also was aboard for his wins in the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes, Sovereignty won by a length over Baeza as the odds-on favorite.
Smoken Wicked got a 135 HRN figure for his win in the Amsterdam (G2), along with a 99 Brisnet and 101 Beyer. And Lovesick Blues got a 131 HRN figure for his win in the Bing Crosby to go with a 104 Brisnet and 105 Beyer.
