Spanish Moon Retired

Spanish Moon, who had been a best-priced 10-1 for the Breeders' Cup Turf at Churchill Downs, has been retired.

The Sir Michael Stoute-trained six-year-old won six of his 16 starts, including the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud, and nearly £1.8 million in win and place prize-money.

He has not been seen since finishing fourth to subsequent Irish St Leger winner Sans Frontieres in the  Princess of Wales's Stakes at Newmarket in July.
