Sovereignty took over the top spot on the National Thoroughbred Racing Association's final poll of top 3-year-olds after his win in the Belmont Stakes.

The Into Mischief colt displaced Journalism at no. 1 after beating him in the Belmont. Journalism, winner of the Preakness, also was runner-up in the Kentucky Derby.

East Avenue made the biggest move in the poll, jumping to no. 7 from no. 22 after his win in the Grade 3 Matt Winn on Sunday.
