Pin Oak Stable’s Songs and Sonnets, who cruised to an eight-length victory at Oaklawn Jan. 31, could possibly make her stakes debut in the $150,000 Azeri Stakes (G3) March 16 after working a bullet five furlongs in 1:00 Thursday.

“She worked good and is doing really good,” said trainer Donnie K. Von Hemel. “I think it was right on a minute. It was good. We’ll probably look at the Azeri now.”

It is no surprise that Songs and Sonnets, a homebred by Unbridled’s Song, has taken a liking to Oaklawn. Her dam is the multiple graded stakes winner Bedanken, winner of the 2002 Honeybee and Dixie Belle Stakes.
