Heavy favorite Smiling Tiger lived up to his top billing with a sharp off the pace tally in Thursday's 38th running of the Grade 3 Count Fleet Handicap at Oaklawn Park.

Second betting choice Chief of Affairs and longshot Silver Magnus battled through strong early fractions of :22.29 and :44.74. Smiling Tiger was away awkwardly and began to advance while racing wide around the turn.

The talented winner was full of run in deep stretch and won going away by 2-1/2 lengths in 1:08.63. The Jeff Bonde trainee paid $3.20 under Joel Rosario.

Silver Magnus went off at more than 31-1 and outfinished Chief of Affairs for the place. Native Ruler crossed the line in 4th and was followed by Riley Tucker and Holyfield.
