Los Alamitos Futurity (G2) winner Slow Down Andy will ship to Sunland Park to challenge Mine That Bird Derby winner Straight Up G in next Sunday's Grade 3, $500,000 Sunland Park Derby.

The 1 1/8-mile race in New Mexico offers 50-20-10-5 qualifying points for the 2022 Kentucky Derby.

Slow Down Andy, trained by Doug O'Neill, has 10 Derby points from his win in the Los Alamitos Futurity in November. Last out, he finished sixth in the Risen Star (G2). He drew the No. 4 post in the eight-horse field.

Straight Up G, in the outside post, has no Kentucky Derby points but is coming off a win in Sunland's black-type Mine That Bird Derby for trainer Richard Baltas last month. Four other runners from the Mine That Bird also return in next Sunday's race.

Bye Bye Bobby, Pepper Spray and Chrome King are the only other stakes winners in the field. Only Slow Down Andy has a graded-stakes win.

The Sunland Park Derby is next Sunday at 7:15 p.m. EDT. It is carded as the 11th of 12 races.
