Skimming has won the $1m Pacific Classic at Del Mar to give trainer Bobby Frankel his fifth win in the 10-year history of the race.
General Challenge, the defending champion and a 9-10 favourite, placed fourth with substitute jockey Laffit Pincay Jr. He drew the mount after Corey Nakatani was injured two races earlier.
