Feel the Thunder Stable and David Cassidy’s Siente El Trueno was allowed to settle just off the early pace in Sunday’s featured $51,000 six-furlong allowance optional claiming race at Fair Grounds, came up to challenge for command entering the stretch and drew off for a 1 3/4-length score under current leading rider Rosie Napravnik.

Trained by Mike Stidham, the son of City Zip toured the three-quarter mile distance in 1:10.58, increased his career earnings to $65,770 with his second victory in four lifetime starts and paid $4.60, $3.40 and $2.60 as the choice of the fans.

Louie Roussel III’s Holiday Ballad, unhurried early, came up to challenge the winner in upper stretch, could not stay with that one but continued willingly to be easily second best, finishing 2 1/4-lengths to the good of Betty and Joni Butzow’s I Am the Sheriff.

Holiday Ballad paid $11.20 and $4.40 and I Am the Sheriff returned $3 to show.
