Shutupanddance, a 4-year-old accredited Louisiana-bred filly owned by Bill and Denise Morrison and trained by Michelle Lovell, took command just after the break and never relinquished the lead thereafter when winning Sunday’s $47,000 1 1/16-mile allowance feature for state-breds at Fair Grounds by three-quarters of a length.

The winner returned mutuels of $7.80, $2.60 and $2.10, toured the distance in the race taken off the grass and run on the main track in 1:45.86 after setting early fractions of  24.08 and 47.34 under jockey Shane Sellers, and increased her career earnings to $198,065 with her fifth victory in 15 lifetime starts.

Heiligbrodt Racing’s Seven Seventythree, coupled in the wagering with that ownership’s Hisse as the odds-on choice in the wagering, pressed the pace throughout, could not get by the winner but was easily second best, finishing 2 1/4-lengths to the good of Peter Barta’s Cigar Starter.

Seven Seventythree paid $2.10 and $2.10, and Cigar Starter returned $2.40.
