Harold Queen's multiple Grade I winner Sheer Drama worked a 'bullet' five furlongs Thursday morning at Gulfstream Park in 1:01.44. The 6-year-old mare, who won the Madison Stakes (G1) at Keeneland in April before finishing third in the La Troienne Stakes (G1) at Churchill Downs May 6, came out of the work "excellent," according to trainer David Fawkes.
"Everything was perfect," he said.
Fawkes said the plan is to work Sheer Drama again next week before heading to New York for the $1 million Ogden Phipps (G1) June 11. If all goes well in New York, Fawkes said the mare would be pointed toward the $750,000 Delaware Handicap (G1), a race she won last year by two lengths.
Cornelio Velasquez Heading South
Jockey Cornelio Velasquez, who has earned five riding titles in New York and has won four Breeders' Cup races, is moving his tack to Gulfstream Park.
Velasquez will accept mounts beginning Wednesday, June 1.
A winner of more than 3,700 races and $164 million in purses, Velasquez will relocate to South Florida to spend more time with family.
"With year-round racing taking off at Gulfstream Park, I want to be part of that excitement and I look forward to riding there full time," Velasquez said.

Velasquez will be represented by agent Kevin Meyocks.
