SHARED BELIEF (USA) [125], who recently won the Santa Anita Handicap (G1) heads the first edition of the LONGINES World’s Best Racehorse Rankings for 2015 (For 3yos and upwards which raced between 1st January and 8th March 2015).

Shared Belief achieved one of his performances of 125 with a 4 lengths plus romp over MORENO (USA) having produced a similar effort when beating CALIFORNIA CHROME (USA) [121] in the San Antonio Invitational (G2) in February with the remainder of the field six lengths and more behind.

ABLE FRIEND (AUS) [124] gave weight and a beating to his opponents in the Stewards’ Cup (G1) at Sha Tin in January and is now unbeaten in his last three outings.

Another horse trained in Hong Kong is joint third in the current list. DESIGNS ON ROME (IRE) [123] has won two Pattern Races this year but the better of the two performances was in theCentenary Vase Handicap (H.K.G3) at Sha Tin in February.

LANKAN RUPEE (AUS) [123] was allocated that figure in the 2014 end of year Longines World Rankings and replicated the level in the Black Caviar Lightning Stakes (G1) at Flemington in February with a comfortable victory.

MAIN SEQUENCE (USA) [120] made it five Pattern Race wins on the bounce by just doing enough to win the Mac Diarmida (G2) at Gulfstream Park by three quarters of a length. Hopefully there is a lot more to come from Main Sequence when he meets more difficult opposition in the months to come.

The LONGINES World’s Best Racehorse Rankings are compiled by the LONGINES World’s Best Racehorse Rankings Committee and published by the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA).
