Shared Account, winner of last year’s Emirates Airline Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf (gr. IT) and seventh in this year’s running in what proved to be her final start, has been retired from racing. The 5-year-old Pleasantly Perfect mare is scheduled to be sent to owner Kevin Plank’s Sagamore Farm near Glyndon, Md. Breeding plans are undecided.

“She came out of her last race very well and without any problems,” said trainer Graham Motion. “We toyed with the idea of racing her next year but decided she had done enough.”

Shared Account’s triumph in last year’s Filly & Mare Turf came at the expense of leading English racemare Midday, who had won the 2009 edition. Shared Account beat odds-on favorite Midday by a neck at 46-1. Earlier in 2010 Shared Account had won the All Along Stakes (gr. IIIT) and was second in the Diana Stakes (gr. IT) at Saratoga.
