Senada, Upperline Meet Again at Keeneland

Senada and Upperline, the respective winner and runner-up in the Rood & Riddle Dowager last fall over the Keeneland turf course, will meet again in the 51st running of the $150,000 Grey Goose Bewitch (G3) on Thursday, the penultimate day of Keeneland’s 15-day spring meeting. Entries for the 1½-mile turf race for fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up, were drawn Sunday.

A 5-year-old daughter of Pulpit, Senada races for Lael Stables and is trained by Barclay Tagg. She is coming into the Grey Goose Bewitch off a seventh-place finish in the Orchid (G3) on March 31 at Gulfstream, and is the 121-pound co-highweight for the race with Trick or Treat International’s Here to Win (BRZ).

Here to Win, a 6-year-old mare by Roi Normand who was the 2010 champion 3-year-old filly in South Africa, won The Very One (G3) on February 25 at Gulfstream Park in her most recent race. Kiarian McLaughlin trains the mare.

The Grey Goose Bewitch, won last year by Keertana, is the eighth race on Thursday’s nine-race program with a post time of 4:42 p.m. First post for the card is 1:05 p.m.

The field for the Grey Goose Bewitch, from the rail out, is as follows: Here to Win (BRZ) (Joe Bravo, 121 pounds), Shimmering Moment (Robby Albarado, 119), Senada (Javier Castellano, 121), Woodford Belle (Julien Leparoux, 119), Upperline (James Graham, 119), Distorted Alice (Victor Lebron, 119), Hemera (Marcelino Pedroza Jr., 119), Thislilsoulofmine (Garrett Gomez, 119).
