Seize the Grey's Preakness win leads weekend speed figures
Seize the Grey earned the highest speed figures of the weekend with his win in the Preakness on Saturday.
With Jaime Torres riding, the Arrogate colt led at every call en route to a 2 1/4-length win for trainer D. Wayne Lukas, earning a 105 Brisnet Speed Rating, a 100 Beyer Speed Figure and a 123 TimeformUS Speed Figure.
Close behind was Shotgun Hottie, the 5-year-old Gun Runner mare who won the listed Allaire Dupont Distaff Stakes, also at Pimlico. With Paco Lopez aboard for trainer Cheri DeVaux, she got a 103 Brisnet rating and a 99 Beyer for her 5 3/4-length win.
Sugoi got the only other triple-digit Brisnet rating, 101, for winning the Grade 3 Louisville at Churchill Downs with Julien Leparoux riding. The 7-year-old gelding also earned a 91 Beyer in scoring his fourth straight win.
