The road to the 2022 Kentucky Derby made its 48th and final stop Saturday when Tawny Port rallied under Florent Geroux to win the Lexington Stakes (G3) at Keeneland for trainer Brad Cox.
Three weeks remain until the 1 1/4-mile classic on May 7 at Churchill Downs. Below is the final leaderboard for the 148th Kentucky Derby, which has a maximum field of 20 horses. As things stand, Pioneer of Medina, In Due Time and Ethereal Road are the first three horses outside the top 20 and would need defections to make the Derby starting gate.
