Script anticipates Hollywood ending

The state of thoroughbred racing in Southern California could best be labeled “uncertain” as the Hollywood Park meeting ends today and the move to Del Mar for Wednesday's opening of the 70th summer meeting begins.

And while “uncertain” is certainly better than “sorry,” it's several furlongs removed from “good.”

For starters, the future existence of the three major racing facilities in the area is in doubt.
