Screener: Key long shots with logicals in Santa Anita stakes

As for the Snow Chief, the entire field trying something new certainly adds a challenge to players but gives some angles that maybe at least one of these can outrun his odds at a decent price.
"The pace will be just a few ticks faster than par, but there will be plenty of pace pressure so those with decidedly early Energy Distribution Profiles will be compromised," Super Screener author Mike Shutty says. "Therefore, it is best to favor horses that have routed while showing balance in the way they distributed their energy.

The Leonard Powell-trained colt easily broke his maiden against fellow California breds last October then followed with an even more impressive victory in the Cecil B. DeMille Stakes (G3) over the Del Mar turf. He’ll sit a perfect ground-saving trip reserved two lengths off the early pace but as he turns for home a lot of that pack of speed will be coming back to him and he will motor on by with ease as he faces so much easier than he has over his last three starts. This is a very strong win contender and a very usable horizontal and vertical wager single."
