Scat Daddy Represented by First Winner

Dual Grade 1 victor SCAT DADDY (Johannesburg) was represented by his first winner as a sire on Friday when Little Miss Muffet captured the 9TH race at Churchill Downs in front-running fashion. With Shaun Bridgmohan aboard, the Tom Amoss pupil carved out fractions of :22 3/5 and :46 before finishing the five-furlong, fast track test in :58 1/5. The dark bay juvenile miss was three parts of a length clear of her closest pursuer while making her career bow in this spot.

Scat Daddy also won in his initial start, taking a maiden special weight at Belmont Park in June 2006 by 5 1/4 lengths. Trainer Todd Pletcher immediately stepped his charge up and the dark bay colt responded with a neck score in the Sanford S. (G2) at Saratoga. Scat Daddy suffered his first loss when second in the Hopeful S. (G1) but rebounded with a nice win in the Champagne S. (G1) next out. He closed out his juvenile season with a fourth-place run in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1).
