Saturday's Rainbow 6 Jackpot Carryover Approaches $3 Million

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 will offer a carryover jackpot of $2,944,674.71 on Saturday's program at Gulfstream Park.
A total of $478,907 was wagered into the Rainbow 6 Friday, when three tickets with all six winners were each worth $89,381.02. The winning tickets were sold at Pocono, Las Vegas and Potowatame Casino in Milwaukee.
The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.
Since last being hit for $76,799.38 by one lucky bettor on Jan. 13, the popular multi-race wager has gone unsolved for 42 consecutive programs. The largest payout of the current Championship Meet, which began Dec. 5, was $262,634.84 on Jan. 7.
If the Rainbow 6 continues to go unsolved, there will be a mandatory payout on March 26.
There will also be a carryover of $25,694.68 in the Super Hi-5 for Saturday's first race. Post Time is 12:35 p.m.
Saturday’s Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 7-12, including the $75,000 Captiva Island Stakes, a five-furlong turf event for older fillies and mares, in Race 11.
Earlier on the program, Power Alert and Amelia’s Wild Ride, the 1-2 finishers in the recent Gulfstream Turf Sprint, respectively, are scheduled to clash in the $75,000 Silks Run, a five-furlong turf stakes, in Race 7.
In addition to the life-changing Rainbow 6 carryover, there will be pool guarantees for the Late Pick 4 and Late Pick 5.  The Late Pick 4 (Races 9-12) will offer a $250,000 pool guarantee, while there will be a $150,000 pool guarantee for the Late Pick 5 (Races 8-12).
Apologynotaccepted Scores Handy 16-Length Debut Victory
Alter's Racing Stable's Apologynotaccepted ($10.20) made an auspicious debut in Friday's eighth race, registering a smashing 16-length front-running victory while running six furlongs in 1:09.89 under Emisael Jaramillo.
The homebred 5-year-old mare set fractions of 22.48 (seconds), 45.34 and 57.28 before crossing the finish line under a hand ride, well clear of runner-up Delay of Game. Stylish Quality, the 7-10 favorite, finished another half-length back in the maiden special weight event for older fillies and mares.
"I thought it was a tough race. It was a tough race. She made it look easy," trainer David Kassen said. "She had been training super good. The rider liked her and said she was the best horse he's been on all winter. He's been working her, and he's been on some nice horses. She ran back to her works. It's amazing, but she trained like that. She came home in 11 and he said she had a lot left in the tank."
The sparkling debut performance was a long time in coming for the daughter of Fusaichi Pegasus, whom Kassen said had issues "behind" that had hampered her training before being sent to him earlier in the winter.
Who’s Hot: Jockey Emisael Jaramillo rode a pair of winners, including Apologynotaccepted and Super Bird ($14.20) in the fifth. Paco Lopez registered a double-win day aboard Gombey Dancer ($3.40) in the first and Second Mate ($11.80) in the seventh.

Rainbow 6 Carryover: $2,944,674.71.
