Saturday works: Bishops Bay leads graded winners on tab
Bishops Bay drilled at Belmont Park on Saturday ahead of his expected start in next Saturday's Grade 1 Cigar Mile.
The son of Uncle Mo came home first in the Forty Niner (G3) at Belmont at the Big A last time out.
The 5-year-old breezed four furlongs in 49.4 seconds, 48th fastest of 112 at the distance. This marked his first timed work since winning the Forty Niner (G3).
Bishops Bay captured the Westchester (G3) at Belmont at the Big A on May 4, posting a 103 Beyer Speed Figure, according to Daily Racing Form. He took the Salvator Mile (G3) at Monmouth Park on June 14. After a sixth in the Forego (G1) at Saratoga on Aug. 23, he rebounded in the Forty Niner.
