Saturday works: Barnes leads graded winners on tab

Barnes drilled at Santa Anita on Saturday ahead of his expected start in the Grade 1 Malibu on Dec. 26 at Santa Anita.

The son of Into Mischief came home fourth in the Gallant Bob (G2) at Parx last time out.

The 3-year-old breezed six furlongs in 1:12.0 seconds, second fastest of three at the distance. His previous work came seven days ago going five furlongs at Santa Anita.

Barnes captured the Perryville (G3) at Keeneland on Oct. 18, posting a 97 Beyer Speed Figure, according to Daily Racing Form. He placed third in the H. Allen Jerkens Memorial (G1) at Saratoga on Aug. 23 and second in the San Felipe (G2) at Santa Anita on March 1.
