Saturday works: 23 graded winners include Carl Spackler

Carl Spackler, a three-time winner at the top level, got back to work Saturday for the first time since winning the Grade 1 Maker's Mark Mile on April 11 at Keeneland. The Chad Brown trainee went four furlongs on the dirt training track at Saratoga in 50.8 seconds.

An eight-time winner, Carl Spackler is one of the leading lights of the turf mile division. He is four-for-five over the lawn at the Spa, including a win in the Grade 1 Fourstardave last year. His other two top-level wins have come at Keeneland, in the Maker's Mark Mile as well as the Keeneland Turf Mile (G1) in 2024.
