Saturday tab: Thorpedo Anna’s bullet leads 61 graded winners
While her trainer Kenny McPeek and stablemate Rattle N Roll were in Saudi Arabia, 2024 horse of the year Thorpedo Anna was back at work Saturday morning, firing a bullet breeze in New Orleans.
Two weeks ahead of her 4-year-old debut, the five-time Grade 1 winner drilled five furlongs in 1:00.2 on the fast main track at Fair Grounds. It was the quickest of 32 workouts covering that distance on the course Saturday.

McPeek has pointed Thorpedo Anna to race March 8 in the Azeri (G3) at Oaklawn.
The Arkansas track was conspicuous by its absence from the Saturday morning tab. Because of the same cold snap that led track management to call off Friday and Saturday races, training was pushed back to the afternoon.
