The 20-cent Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $50,000 Saturday at Gulfstream Park.
The innovative multi-race wager started anew Friday after one lucky ticketholder cashed for $164,483.32 Thursday.
The Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot is paid out only when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.
A unique ticket with all six winners wasn’t sold Thursday, resulting in a $ payoff to tickets with the ……combination.
In addition to the Rainbow jackpot guarantee for Saturday’s 11-race card, the pools for the 50-cent Pick 5 and the Late Pick 4 will both guaranteed at $50,000.
The Rainbow 6 will span Races 6-11 in a six-race sequence that will include the running of the $60,000 Bougainvillea Handicap in Race 9. The Pick 5 will span Races 7-11, while the Late Pick 4 will be conducted on Races 8-11.
NOTE
Jockeys Edgard Zayas and Jonathan Gonzales were both unseated during Friday's ninth race. Zayas was taken to the hospital complaining of neck and back pain, moving all his extremities. Gonzales was taken to first aid at the track complaining of elbow pain....Jockey Harry Hernandez, who was unseated at the start of the seventh race when his mount Symphony Forty One stumbled at the start, was taken to the hospital with a broken nose.
