The New York Racing Association (NYRA) has canceled Saturday’s live racing program at Aqueduct Racetrack due to a powerful winter storm forecast to impact the New York City metropolitan area throughout the day.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a winter weather advisory for the downstate region. The NWS forecast, which aligns with NYRA’s independent weather services, is calling for accumulating snow with sustained high winds and gusts up to 50 mph.

Live racing at Aqueduct will resume on Sunday with a nine-race slate featuring the $100,000 Damon Runyon. First post on Sunday is 1:20 p.m. EDT.

The winter weather also forced the cancelation of Saturday racing at Laurel Park according to a news release from the Maryland Jockey Club. Racing will to Laurel on Sunday, with first post scheduled for 12:40 p.m.

Saturday evening's card at Charles Town was canceled according to a news release from the track. Racing will resume Wednesday.
