Saratoga's summer-meet handle declines from 2024

All-sources handle at Saratoga's summer meet declined from last year, to $791.1 million from $803.8 million.

Average daily handle also declined, to $19.8 million from $20.6 million, and total on-track handle was little changed at $136.2 million compared with $136.3 million, according to a New York Racing Association news release.

Whitney Stakes day generated a record $49,651,341 of wagering, and Travers day wagering of $54,309,929 was the third highest amount ever wagered on a single day in the history of the summer meet.

Total paid attendance for the meet rose slightly, to 1,061,787 from 1,051,092.

During the meet, 33 races were off the turf, compared with 45 last year. There was a total of 420 races for the meet, with 244 on dirt and 176 on turf, compared with 412, 257 dirt and 155 turf, last year.

Over the 49 days of racing at Saratoga in 2025, including the Belmont Stakes and July 4 racing festivals, wagering handle from all sources totaled $1,072,548,515 with paid attendance of 1,224,504.
